Regenerative Braking Does Not Replace the Friction-Brake System
A Tesla can slow the vehicle through regenerative braking while returning energy to the battery. It still relies on conventional brake pads, rotors, calipers, brake fluid and related hardware whenever the friction brakes are needed. Those components can develop wear, uneven movement, surface concerns, fluid problems or impact-related damage even when the pads last longer than a driver expects.
That is why mileage alone does not decide whether a Tesla needs brake work. The useful questions are what the vehicle is doing, when the symptom occurs, whether a warning is present and what the components show during an in-person inspection.
Universal Motorcars takes a diagnosis-first approach. We do not assume every squeak means the pads are worn out, and we do not automatically sell pads and rotors as a package. We inspect the connected brake, wheel and tire areas, explain the evidence and build the repair around the actual condition of the vehicle.
