The right starting point

Certification that connects to your repair.

Manufacturer collision programs set requirements for participating facilities, including training, equipment and access to repair information. That matters when the decision is more involved than whether a panel can be made to look straight.

We use the vehicle’s year, VIN, equipment, construction and damage to plan the work. Repair-versus-replace decisions, attachment methods and electronic checks must follow the applicable procedures.

I-CAR Gold Class is a business-level training recognition. It supports continuing role-based education; it does not mean that every individual technician holds every qualification. Our manufacturer certifications and Gold Class listing belong to 5585 Spring Mountain Road.

From cosmetic damage to collision repairs

Start with what happened.
We’ll look beyond what shows.

Small damage deserves a thoughtful assessment, too. Bring us the vehicle and tell us what changed after the impact.

Scratches, dents & parking damage

We assess paint damage, metal deformation and access to the area before recommending a repair approach. Paying out of pocket? Ask for a written estimate so you can decide how to proceed.

Bumpers, doors & body panels

A bumper cover can hide damaged brackets, absorbers or sensors. Door and fender damage may affect panel gaps, hinges and nearby components. The inspection determines what can be repaired and what needs replacement.

Paint matching & refinishing

A paint code is the starting point. Color variation, metallic or pearl appearance and the surrounding finish help determine the refinishing plan, including whether adjacent panels need blending.

Structure & accident-related systems

For more substantial damage, the plan may include structural measurement and repair, steering, suspension or other accident-related mechanical concerns. The vehicle’s materials and manufacturer procedures determine the permitted repair method and equipment needed.

A preliminary visual estimate covers what can be seen. Any diagnostic or disassembly work that carries a charge requires your authorization.

Hyundai collision repair

Your Hyundai.
Its own repair requirements.

An Elantra door, a scraped Tucson bumper and a damaged Palisade front corner call for different inspections. The badge alone does not identify the structure, sensors or repair procedures on a particular vehicle.

On equipped Hyundai vehicles, the bumper area may house corner radar or parking sensors. Hyundai’s bumper guidance restricts repairs that change the shape of a radar-equipped bumper cover, and calls for protecting sensors from paint contamination. A cosmetic repair decision can therefore also be a driver-assistance-system decision.

We plan the body and refinish work with those requirements in mind, then identify the scans, calibrations or relearns required for the affected systems.

Kia collision repair

A clear plan for the damage you see—and the systems you don’t.

A rear impact to a Kia SUV can involve more than the outer bumper. The liftgate opening, mounting points, lamps, wiring and nearby sensors may all need attention. On a Sportage or Telluride, tell us about changes in steering feel, warning messages or unusual noises after an accident.

Kia’s published position calls for pre- and post-repair diagnostic scans for collision-damaged vehicles. Warning lamps alone do not reveal every stored fault. Scan findings help guide the repair and the checks needed before delivery.

We explain the documented findings and any additional work uncovered during authorized disassembly, so you can understand why a repair plan changes.

Electronics & driver assistance

A scan, an alignment and a calibration do different jobs.

The appropriate checks depend on the vehicle and the repair—not just whether a dashboard warning is on.

01 / IDENTIFY

Diagnostic scanning

Pre-repair scanning records faults that may need investigation. Post-repair scanning checks system status after the work. A scan is not a substitute for physical inspection or calibration.

02 / MEASURE

Alignment & calibration

Wheel alignment measures suspension geometry. Camera or radar calibration establishes the aiming or reference values a driver-assistance system needs. Bumper, glass, structural or suspension work can trigger specific requirements.

03 / VERIFY

Relearns & final checks

Some repairs require initialization, relearns, operational checks or a road test. Your repair plan should identify the required procedures and whether work is completed here or coordinated with a qualified provider.

Hybrids, plug-in hybrids & EVs

Hyundai & Kia EV collision expertise.

Universal Motorcars handles collision repairs for all Hyundai and Kia electric-vehicle models at our factory-certified Spring Mountain facility. This includes Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, Kia EV6 and EV9, alongside our collision services for hybrid and plug-in-hybrid vehicles.

A damaged fender on a Hyundai IONIQ 5 or a Kia EV6 is not the same job as an impact near the high-voltage battery. Underbody damage, coolant leaks, warning messages and structural movement can change the assessment and the handling plan.

From bumper and panel damage to more substantial accident repairs, we build the plan around your vehicle’s year, equipment and applicable manufacturer procedures. Call with your model, year and damage details so our team can plan the inspection and coordinate transport.

Body & structural assessment

The plan considers the body, underbody and battery-area protection, cooling components, sensors and model-specific structural requirements.

High-voltage precautions

Damaged electrified vehicles may need special handling and qualified high-voltage personnel. Additional training, equipment and procedures must match the actual task.

Battery work is a separate scope

Assessing possible battery-area damage is different from repairing or replacing a battery. Hyundai’s position does not recommend repair of the high-voltage battery assembly. Any battery-related work needs a specific, qualified repair path.

Do not touch exposed electrical components after an EV or hybrid collision. If there is a fire or another emergency, move away and call 911; tell responders that an electrified vehicle is involved. Contact the manufacturer or dealer about suspected battery damage. NHTSA’s EV safety guidance.

Insurance or self-pay

Understand the estimate.
Keep a say in your repair.

Universal Motorcars is an independent, family-owned repair business. Bring your insurer’s estimate if you have one; it is a starting point for reviewing the visible damage, not a complete diagnosis of everything behind it.

Choosing a body shop in Nevada →White Kia Telluride parked outside the Universal Motorcars shop, with the business frontage visible.

Can I choose a shop outside the insurer’s list?

Nevada law gives an insured or claimant the right to choose a licensed body shop. An insurer cannot require a different shop, but that does not mean it must pay every amount quoted. Coverage, liability and reasonable repair costs still matter. Read NRS 690B.016.

Why might the estimate change?

Authorized disassembly can reveal hidden damage. A supplement documents additional parts, labor or procedures with supporting findings. We help explain the changes and coordinate the repair documentation with the insurer; approval and payment are not automatic.

Will insurance pay for genuine OEM parts?

We advocate for appropriate genuine Hyundai or Kia parts using damage documentation and applicable manufacturer repair requirements. For a claim on your own policy, parts coverage depends on the policy and any endorsements. In a third-party claim, liability, available limits and the claim’s facts affect the payment discussion. We cannot promise insurer approval of every OEM part.

Lifetime warranty on paint and workmanship.

Universal Motorcars backs its paint and workmanship with a lifetime warranty. Ask our team for the written warranty terms that apply to your repair and keep a copy with your invoice.

Paint and workmanship coverage is separate from any parts or manufacturer warranty. It should not be understood as a lifetime warranty on the vehicle, high-voltage battery or every mechanical component.

A few practical questions

Before your visit.

How long will my repair take?

We can give a more useful timeframe after inspecting the vehicle and identifying the repair scope. Hidden damage, parts availability, required system procedures and insurance decisions can change the schedule. Ask which steps are still pending when you receive an update.

Can you help with towing or a rental?

Call our Spring Mountain team before arranging a tow so we can confirm vehicle acceptance and the correct destination. Ask about towing and rental coordination for your situation. Rental eligibility, cost and duration depend on your policy or claim arrangements; a rental is not automatically included with a repair.

What should I bring for a preliminary estimate?

Bring the vehicle, your contact information, its year and model, and any claim number or insurer’s estimate you already have. Note new warning messages, fluid leaks, noises or changes in steering after the impact. Do not drive a vehicle you believe may be unsafe; call to discuss transport first.
