Bodywork, bumpers & refinishing
Look beyond
the visible damage.
-
Scratches, dents & damaged panels
Doors, fenders, quarter panels, and bumpers need an individual assessment. Paintless dent repair may suit some dents with intact paint and suitable access. Creases, stretched metal, cracked plastic, torn edges, or damage near an attachment point can require a different approach.
-
Repair or replace?
The answer depends on damage, panel material, attachment methods, and the applicable Mercedes-Benz repair procedure. We explain why a repair is proposed—or why replacement and additional inspection may be needed—before you authorize the work.
-
Hidden damage matters
A bumper cover can conceal damaged brackets, absorbers, wiring, or sensor mounts. Door and side impacts can affect hinges, openings, and components behind the panel. Disassembly may reveal damage that a visual estimate cannot include.

The right parts for your Mercedes
The right parts.
A clear estimate.
Parts can make a significant difference in your repair cost. At Universal Motorcars, we explain genuine Mercedes-Benz parts and suitable aftermarket options so you understand the price, fit, finish and warranty differences.
We recommend OEM parts when they’re the right choice for your repair. When a particular component needs to be OEM, we’ll explain why. Where suitable alternatives can help manage the cost, we’ll discuss those too.
Whether you’re using insurance or paying directly, your estimate should make the proposed parts clear before you authorize the work.
- Identify the part. We explain what is proposed and the part designation on the estimate.
- Check the repair requirements. Your VIN, vehicle equipment, and the applicable procedure inform the plan.
- Discuss coverage and cost. Policy terms, insurer decisions, availability, and any price difference can affect the final choice. We explain changes before authorization.
The finish—and the systems behind it
More than a color match.
The color catches your eye. The panel fit, trim, sensors, and systems around the repair deserve the same attention.
Paint that belongs with the rest of your Mercedes
You want the repaired panel to look right next to the original paint. That takes more than ordering a color by its paint code. We look at the shade, metallic or pearl effect, and the finish already on your car. Sometimes that means blending color into the next panel for a smooth transition. We’ll explain that area of the estimate before work begins.
Have a Magno matte finish? Let us look at the scratch before you try polishing it—polish can leave a shiny patch. Tell us about any wrap or paint-protection film, too, so we can plan for the surface your car actually has.
The bumper looks fine. What about the sensors?
A bumper can spring back into shape while a mount or component behind it stays damaged. And a clear dashboard doesn’t tell the whole story: Mercedes-Benz calls for diagnostic evaluation after a collision even when no warning appears.
We plan the checks around your vehicle and the repair. A scan helps identify electronic faults; calibration sets up affected cameras or sensors. One doesn’t replace the other. We explain the required checks, alignment, and programming as part of your repair plan. Mercedes-Benz diagnostic guidance ↗
Structure & aluminum
Structural and aluminum damage calls for a plan built around the material, Mercedes-Benz repair procedures, and the equipment and expertise the job requires. We assess those needs before recommending repair or replacement.
Any specialist operations are identified and explained before you authorize the work.
Not sure whether to drive it in? Call us first. If your Mercedes pulls to one side, the steering wheel sits crooked, or something feels different after the impact, don’t assume an alignment will fix it. Steering or suspension damage needs a closer look. Arrange towing if steering or braking has changed, a tire is damaged or rubbing, fluid is leaking, parts are loose, or an airbag has deployed. Follow any stop-driving message in your owner’s manual.

Have these details ready
- Year, model, and VIN if available
- What happened and any claim information
- Warning messages or changes in how it drives
- Damage photos, if available
Let’s look at it together. The price depends on your Mercedes, its finish, and what’s damaged behind the mark. We’ll explain what can be repaired, what needs replacing, and how the paintwork fits into the estimate.
Your preliminary visual estimate is free. Taking parts off to inspect hidden damage, diagnostic scans, and alignment checks are separate services—we explain any charges and get your authorization first.
Help with the insurance estimate
Already have an estimate from your insurer? Bring it with your claim details. We compare it with the damage and proposed repair. If disassembly reveals more damage, we photograph the findings, explain the additional work, and submit a supplement for review. We discuss any coverage or out-of-pocket differences with you before you authorize changes.
Do I have to use my insurer’s shop?
No. In Nevada, you can choose your licensed body shop. Tell your insurer you’d like Universal Motorcars to handle the repairs, then share your claim information with us. We help with the documentation and discuss any coverage or payment differences before you authorize the work. Read Nevada’s shop-choice law.
Self-pay repairs
Paying directly for a bumper scrape, dent, or accident repair? We walk you through the bodywork, parts, paint, and related checks in your estimate. You can ask what each item addresses and discuss repair options before deciding. Any change to the agreed work needs your authorization.
Towing & impound pickup
Vehicle not drivable? Call for towing assistance. Impound pickup needs your authorization and the holding facility’s release requirements. Ask about costs before arrangements are made.
Rental coordination
We help coordinate a rental while your Mercedes is being repaired. Coverage, eligibility, and vehicle availability determine the options.
Timing & updates
Your updates cover inspection findings, changes to the repair plan, parts or insurer delays, and the next step toward pickup. We discuss timing after inspection and revise it if the scope or parts availability changes. Ask our team what stage your Mercedes is at and what comes next.
Paint & workmanship warranty
Ask us about lifetime paint and workmanship coverage for your repair. Review the written eligibility, exclusions, and claim process with our team so you know what is covered after pickup.
Built around your Mercedes
Your model.
Your finish.
Your repair plan.
Hands-on experience.
Attention to the individual vehicle.
Your model, equipment, finish, and the impact all shape the work. We use those details to plan the body repair, parts, and related checks.

Sedans, coupes & SUVs
From C-, E-, and S-Class inquiries to Mercedes SUVs, our team assesses the damage and explains the bodywork and paint your vehicle needs. Bring your year, model, and VIN to help us identify the right parts and procedures.
Mercedes-AMG
AMG bumpers, trim, wheel fitment, and finishes deserve model-specific attention. Talk with us about your Mercedes-AMG so we can identify its equipment, parts, and collision-repair requirements before scheduling.
Mercedes electric models
For an EQB, EQE, EQS, or other electric Mercedes, call before arranging drop-off. We confirm the model and repair scope first. Underbody impact, battery warnings, or suspected high-voltage damage require a specialist assessment and may change where the vehicle needs to go.

A few more things you may be wondering
Let’s make the
next step easier.
Have a question about your own Mercedes? Give us a call. We’ll talk through it with you.
Can I send photos before I bring my Mercedes in?
Yes. A photo of the whole damaged side, a few close-ups, and any warning message will help us plan your visit. We’ll still need to see the car to assess what the photos can’t show. When you come in, bring your vehicle details, claim number, and any estimate you already have. Let us know about previous repairs, wraps, or special paint.
My lease is ending. Should I fix that bumper damage first?
Start with your pre-return inspection so you know what the leasing company expects. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services treats bumper cracks and gouges as excess wear even when they’re small; the rules for other marks differ. Bring us the findings and we’ll explain the repair options. Check your lease for any shop or parts requirements before authorizing repairs, and keep the invoice. The lessor makes the final decision on lease-end charges. See Mercedes-Benz lease-return guidance.
What should we go over when I pick up my Mercedes?
Take a walk around it with us. Look at the repaired paint, panel gaps, and trim, and try the doors or closures involved in the repair. Ask about the parts used and any diagnostic or calibration records for the work. Keep your invoice and written warranty terms. If you notice a new warning, noise, or change in how it drives afterward, let us know promptly.
