START WITH THE WARNING

Your Tesla has charge.
Why is it asking for battery service?

The battery that powers the wheels is not the only battery in your Tesla. A separate low-voltage battery supports electrical functions. A charged traction battery does not, by itself, rule out a low-voltage battery problem.

You may see a low-voltage battery service alert or notice trouble waking or unlocking the vehicle. Those details help us start the inspection. They do not prove that every electrical concern will be solved by replacing the battery.

What to tell us when you call

  • Your Tesla model, year and VIN, if available.
  • The exact alert or warning shown on the screen.
  • Whether the vehicle wakes, unlocks and operates normally.
  • When the concern started and any recent battery or electrical work.

Follow the vehicle’s alert instructions. If the Tesla is not driveable, call us to discuss towing coordination before trying to bring it in.

The right battery.
A repair you understand.

01

Confirm the cause

We review the warning and evaluate the battery concern. If the findings point to another electrical issue or require more testing, we explain that before treating a replacement as the answer.

02

Match your Tesla

The correct battery and replacement procedure depend on the vehicle. We identify the specification for your model and build, check availability and discuss the estimate before you approve the work.

03

Replace and check

When replacement is the supported repair, we complete the work and applicable setup, then check vehicle operation and the related warning. Ask us about the warranty that applies to your battery and repair.

Looking for Tesla 12V battery replacement? We can help identify whether your vehicle uses a 12V battery or a different low-voltage system. The model name alone is not enough to choose a replacement.

A local team.
A clear conversation.

Whether you are about to leave for work or have already had an electrical warning checked elsewhere, bring us the details. A previous estimate or diagnostic result helps us understand what has been done and what still needs to be confirmed.

Universal Motorcars is a family-owned Las Vegas repair business with 35 years of team experience in automotive repair and a 2025 Best of Las Vegas Silver award for Auto Repair. We explain the findings, the proposed repair and expected timing so you can decide with useful information.

About cost and timing

There is no single battery price or turnaround that fits every Tesla. Battery specification, availability and the diagnostic work needed all affect the visit. Call either location for current availability, and review the estimate with us before authorizing repairs.

Questions before you book.

Is the low-voltage battery the same as the main Tesla battery?

No. The low-voltage battery supports the vehicle’s electrical systems. The high-voltage traction battery stores energy used to drive the car. A low-voltage battery replacement is a different service from repairing or replacing the traction battery.

Do I need a 12V battery or a different low-voltage battery?

That depends on the vehicle. Tesla battery types and procedures vary by model and build. Give us the model, year and VIN so we can identify the correct battery and confirm availability. We do not assume every Tesla uses the same 12V battery.

Can I keep driving with a low-voltage battery warning?

Read and follow the exact instructions on the vehicle’s screen. Different alerts can require different actions, and a warning should not be treated as permission to keep driving. Call us with the message before planning the trip. If the car will not operate normally or cannot be driven safely, we can help coordinate towing.

How much does Tesla low-voltage battery replacement cost?

The estimate depends on the battery specified for your vehicle, access, diagnostic work and any related concern. Tell us the model, year and warning when you call. We explain the proposed work and price before you authorize it, including whether further testing is needed.

Can you replace it the same day?

Ask us about current scheduling and the correct battery’s availability. Some visits are straightforward, while a warning that needs more diagnosis can take longer. We confirm the expected timing after reviewing the vehicle and service needs; we do not promise a fixed turnaround before that check.
