Uneven panel gaps, a door that no longer closes correctly or a change in steering after an accident deserve an inspection. They do not, by themselves, prove that the frame is bent. A damaged suspension part, mounting point or body component can produce overlapping symptoms.
The useful question is what the inspection and measurements show. Universal Motorcars evaluates collision damage in Las Vegas; our structural inspection and frame repair service page explains the service. This article helps you understand the repair discussion.
“Frame damage” can describe different structures
Some vehicles use a separate frame beneath the body. Others use a unibody structure, where joined body sections contribute to the vehicle’s structure. The year, model, construction materials and location of damage matter when deciding how an affected section can be repaired.
A description such as “front-end damage” is not a repair method. The shop needs to identify the affected components and use the applicable vehicle repair information.
Straightening is not the answer for every damaged part
Manufacturer procedures and material limits determine whether a component can be repaired or needs replacement. Restoring its visible shape alone does not establish that the proposed method is appropriate.
I-CAR’s repair-versus-replacement guidance explains why material strength and manufacturer instructions matter. Restrictions on straightening, heating or sectioning vary; the current instructions for the specific vehicle must guide the repair.

Ask what was measured and what the results mean
Panel fit is useful evidence, but it is not a substitute for the structural measurements required by the repair plan. Ask which areas were checked, whether additional access or disassembly is needed, and how the results compare with the applicable specifications.
Also distinguish structural measurement from wheel alignment. They answer different questions. A wheel-alignment result alone should not be presented as proof that every structural concern has been resolved.
Questions to ask before authorizing the repair
- Which components are damaged, and how was that established?
- Which parts are being repaired and which are being replaced?
- What manufacturer procedure supports the proposed method?
- Could disassembly reveal more damage or change the estimate?
- Which measurements, scans or other checks will document completion?
What if the car still pulls or feels different?
Report the symptom and when it occurs. Steering pull, vibration and unusual tire wear can have several causes; they do not diagnose a failed structural repair on their own. Give the shop the previous repair invoice and any alignment report so it can review what was done and investigate the remaining concern.
For collision damage affecting cameras, sensors or suspension geometry, ask whether the repair requires ADAS calibration or related procedures.
Arrange a damage inspection in Las Vegas
Contact Universal Motorcars at Spring Mountain or Post Road with the vehicle model and damaged area. Bring photos, any insurer estimate and prior repair records. The inspection establishes the scope; neither a photograph nor a general article can determine repairability or promise a completion date.
